Armageddon is coming
To give you some history on this amazing event, the first ARMAGEDDON pay-per-view was originally entitled “In Your House: Armageddon” and was held 12/15/96. At the time, it was one of the series of “In Your House” pay-per-views that were held throughout the mid to late 1990s. The main event featured WWE Champion Sycho Sid defending the title against Bret “Hit Man” Hart.
ARMAGEDDON did not return until December 1999, and it has been held every December since—with the sole exception of 2001, when it was replaced by the first Vengeance™ pay-per-view. Triple H® beat Vince McMahon in a no-holds-barred Street Fight in ’99, Kurt Angle retained the WWE Championship in a six-man Hell in the Cell™ in 2000, Triple H won the World Championship from Shawn Michaels™ in a best-of-three-falls match in 2002. In 2003, it was a Raw®-exclusive pay-per-view, and featured Triple H again regaining the World title in a Triple Threat® match with Kane® and Goldberg.
This year, it will be a SmackDown-exclusive pay-per-view for the first time. This historic event will take place at The Gwinnett Center on Sunday December 12.
